Join ICOG, the Society of Professional Journalists, and OpenTheGovernment.org in a national conversation about government secrecy during this year’s Sunshine Week observation.

National and local experts in Freedom of Information laws will discuss “Your Right to Know” during a March 13 program marking Sunshine Week, a national initiative on the importance of open government.

The program will be 7-8:30 p.m. March 13 at the national headquarters of the Society of Professional Journalists, 3909 N. Meridian St. in Indianapolis (park and enter in the back). It will feature highlights from a national panel discussion produced by OpenTheGovernment.org, a national government watchdog organization. This will be followed by a live panel discussion of state local concerns and developments regarding government access.

The local panel will include state Public Access Counselor Karen Davis and Steve Key, general counsel for the Hoosier State Press Association.

This Sunshine Week program, sponsored by the Indianapolis Professional Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists and the Indiana Coalition for Open Government, is free and open to the public.
