ICOG participated in a state-by-state review of state access laws this year.Sixteen states responded to questions distributed by the Virginia Coalition for Open Government, a report that is posted online here.

The questions and answers are worth reviewing. And it just goes to show you what we can sometimes take for granted. Check out page nine of the report, which asks: Does your state law limit the use of the public access law to citizens of that state only?

Indiana’s answers were provided by members of the ICOG board. Some are opinions – such as identifying the strengths and weaknesses in Indiana’s laws – while others are matter-of-fact responses based on statutory definitions.
