As reported earlier, the Indiana Coalition for Open Government is looking for an administrative home. After seeking proposals from colleges and universities around the state, we voted in March to move forward on discussions with Indiana University’s School of Journalism. ICOG’s July 8 board meeting, which is open to members and the public, will include a progress report on the talks.

ICOG needs an administrative partner to help take our all-volunteer coalition to the next level. ICOG has neither paid nor volunteer staff. Rather, our programs are carried out by an all-volunteer board of directors. The board hopes that an administrative partner will help maintain the organization’s Web site, produce newsletters, and obtain grants for access programming. The board of directors will continue to guide ICOG’s activities.

An ICOG board committee has been working with IU to frame a specific partnership agreement. The committee will report on its progress at the meeting July 8, beginning at noon, at the Society of Professional Journalists building, 3909 N. Meridian St., Indianapolis. ICOG members and the public are welcome to attend.
